Condo Living if You’re Single… Relationship… Pets?

by Mt. Pleasant Condos on November 7, 2009

Reader Question:

Is condo living the best if you’re single, have a relationship with no kids, or rarely home?

And on top of what pets are the best when living in a condo? and what pets are good for Mt. Pleasant where it’s pretty hot all year long?

I appreciate it!

Wow Gerry that is a lot! Ok these are some interesting questions and a really great question about the pets because many people living here are always wondering that too.

Let’s take these one by one…

Condo living really is the best for anybody… even if you have kids… of course your condo better be pretty big. But seriously… if you’re single and you want to own somethig of your own then condo living is great.

Not to mention that with condos, you don’t have any exterior maintenance or exterior insurance to worty about which is really great.

I actually live in a condo here in Mt. Pleasant and I live with my girlfriend. It’s great because we are pretty busy most of the time and living in a condo makes it really easy and hassel free.

If you’re rarely home… it’s hard to tell if it would be a wise purchase for you. It might be best to just get an apartment or get a roommate and not worry about everything else.

You will need insurance for all the interior of a condo which will be more expensive than renters insurance. So if you’re never home then perhaps you can save money and time by just renting some place.

Then again when it comes to pets, many apartments don’t allow pets so you could be stuck there.

The best type of dog to get for lowcountry living in Mt. Pleasant would be any dog that does not have tons of hair. I actually have fiends that have all sorts of dogs… even huskies… but I always feel really bad for them because they pant and pant all summer long. It has to be miserable to have all the hair with no relief in sight.

I hoped that help Gerry… and at least gave you more food for thought when it comes to getting a condo or just renting a place.
